Frequently Asked Questions

How do I log in?

Do you have a Blender ID? That's how you log in.

Why Blender ID? Why not some other kind of log in (e.g. blenderartists.org, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)?

The focus of this site is on Blender. It's for Blender users and developers to pitch ideas for features and workflow enhancements to Blender. For that reason, it's best to limit logins to people who have a specific vested interested in Blender. Since the Blender ID is used for things like accessing the Blender Network, the Blender Cloud, and Blender Foundation Certified Trainer status, it makes the most sense to use that as our authentication mechanism.

When does my idea get into Blender?

To be frank, there's no guarantee that it will. Blender developers (both on the core team and occasional contributors) visit this site. Some of them even post their own ideas. Getting a high number of votes on your idea does not guarantee that there's a developer with the time and interest available to implement it. Nor is a having a low number of votes a sign that it won't be developed. Right-Click Select is a place where we collect ideas, discuss them, and refine them. Developers can see your idea (or better, you can actively seek out developers and share the link to your idea with them directly) and even help further improve them. Then, if there's a developer with the time and interest to write the code for your idea, then it could get worked on and shepherded through the official development process on developer.blender.org.

I have an idea for this site, where do I post those ideas?

The easiest way would to add a post in the Meta category. Of course, if you're a developer, you're welcome to contribute your coding skills to the Dillo project. Features added in Dillo will find their way into this site.
