Extend Blender's Skin modifier to ALSO work like e.g. Fusion 360's pipe command.
I am not using Blender to animate stuff, but the code underlying the Skin modifier seems to just give a slightly different result then Fusion 360's pipe command. Still, what we currently get is useless in most situations. (When trying to use it the way Fusion's command/tool works...) So, it would be great when an option could be added to the Skin modifier so that we get a nice piping thingy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHxszShoh5o

It is not useful or sufficient to say “make Blender like X program.” Be specific in describing the desired behavior that you’d like Blender to have, compared to how it currently works. Saying “what currently we get is useless in most situations” isn’t helpful to developers in modifying features or creating them from scratch. And a link to a video of how another program works isn't abundantly helpful, either. Please describe how things should change in the context of Blender's workflow and tools.

That is why there is a video attached that is exactly showing what I am talking about. Also, I didn't say "make Blender like x program". I said, that there is something in Blender that, when working just slightly different, can also be useful for something totally different then skinning. Okay, stop downvoting to teach others, don't pretend to be any developer's bouncer, stop being annoying. Thanks!

This still doesn't specifically describe what behavior you'd like like Blender to have compared to what it currently does. Also, would this be an option to the existing modifier? How would users choose that in the UI. As your proposal currently stands, it's not sufficient for the kinds of proposals this site is supposed to have.

The FAQ doesn't say that this proposal is not good enough... So, downvoting probably "helps" more yourself then Blender. Good job!

Here's how the site works: You post your idea. Other folks give you feedback. You refine your idea. Folks [can] change their votes. As far as my vote is concerned, I still don't have a clear picture of what you're asking for, based on what you've written. I've asked that you clearly describe the difference between what Blender currently does and what you'd like it to do... and then how it would work in Blender's interface.

I’ve never seen Fusion 360 and I don’t really understand what you want exactly by watching this video. From what I see it seems you’d like to have the ability to set the number of U and V divisions of the pipe and select the shape of the tips (closed, open rounded, pointy). Other than that I didn’t find anything that the Skin modifier can’t do.
